A hairline topper sits right on your hairline like a headband, with a soft lace front that gives you back natural-looking edges. A thin, clear elastic band in the back holds it secure and hides under your hair. Medical-grade silicone around the ears keeps it from slipping. No clips on the front, no glue. Each one is ordered to match your texture and color. This is one of our clients, fitted by Remi right here in Humble.

Hairline & U-shape toppers
For thinning edges, traction alopecia or a receding hairline. A hairline topper sits on your hairline like a headband, held by a thin, clear elastic band hidden under your hair, with medical-grade silicone around the ears so it stays put. The newer U-shape style uses the same clear band and reaches farther back to also cover thinning at the top. No glue. Made to order in your texture and color, and fitted in person.

CCCA
Central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia starts at the crown and spreads outward. It's most common in Black women, and early care from a dermatologist matters.

Patches or total loss
Alopecia areata
An autoimmune condition that causes round patches, and sometimes loss of all scalp hair (alopecia totalis).

Traction alopecia
Thinning edges from years of tight braids, ponytails, glue or heavy installs.

Chemotherapy hair loss
Hair loss during treatment is often sudden and total, and the scalp can feel tender.

Good to know
Topper or wig: which one do I need?
If you're thinning at the part or crown, a topper usually covers it. If you have little or no hair, or a tender scalp, a full-coverage unit with a soft, adjustable cap is more comfortable. We'll figure it out together at your fitting.
What helps with CCCA hair loss at the crown?
Many women with CCCA use a topper at the crown early on, or a soft, glueless medical unit as it progresses. Avoid glue and tension, and see a dermatologist for diagnosis and care.
What kind of wig is best for alopecia areata?
For patchy or total loss, a full-coverage medical-grade unit with a soft, breathable cap and adjustable fit is usually the most comfortable choice.
Is the fitting private?
Yes. Fittings are one-on-one, by appointment, and you're welcome to bring a friend or family member.
Will a topper or wig help my hair grow?
No. Toppers and wigs cover hair loss; they don't treat it. If you're worried about why your hair is thinning, please talk with your doctor.
Do you bill insurance?
Not at this time. Some insurance plans reimburse part of a "cranial prosthesis" with a doctor's prescription, so check with your plan directly.
Can I return it?
Because these pieces are worn close to the scalp, all sales are final. That's why we fit you in person before you buy.
